Mali Team Update

We had a quick phone call today from the Mali team and here is what I was able to write down.

The team played the Senegal National Team and won 76-64.

Here is the scoring summary -

Jake Diebler, Valparaiso University - 5 points
Jesse Sanders, Liberty University - 3 points
Shane Dansby, Belmont University - 14 points
Danero Thomas, Murray State - 4 points
Ian O’Leary, St Marys, CA - DNP
Ramon Harris, University of Kentucky - 8 points
Urule Igbavboa, Valparaiso University - 11 points
Jay Watkins, Southern Idaho - 8
Julian Gamble, University of Miami - 13 points
Jared Carter, University of Kentucky - 15 points

Brook & Stephanie were able to hold some clinics with some Senegal teams and built some quality relationships with three specific players.

The team boarded a plane today and should already be in Mali.  The four team tournament starts on Tuesday.

Hopefully the team can update this entry with more details from the game.

Jared and Ramon. Proud of your representation of Jesus Christ on this mission trip. I pray that God blesses your trip with additions to His kingdom.

I love UK basketball, but more importantly is the love I have for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

May He bless you mightily as you use your talents for His glory. Go Big Blue and some day our home will be above the Blue.

Jared & Ramon, Proud of you guys and more proud of your witness. Keep casting out that word and it won't return void. Jared, seeing you excel is a thrill...to some doubters, this must seem like Goliath started picking up the rocks and slinging them back at these little pee-wee doubting Davids who probably couldn't jump and touch net. Keep it up big guy and prove em wrong. Lord bless you both.
