Headquarted in Xenia, Ohio, Athletes in Action exists to boldly proclaim the love and truth of Jesus Christ to those uniquely impacted by sport worldwide by winning, building, and sending athletic influencers.
In 1966, Dave Hannah had the vision to use sports to reach the
world for Christ. He envisioned star quarterbacks, point guards,
and pitchers sharing the gospel with teammates, fans, and even
competitors. He envisioned sports fans crammed into arenas around
the world hearing a half-time or post-game gospel message that
would forever change their lives.
That
vision is being carried on today as Athletes in Action continues
to be a pioneer, innovator, and servant leader in sport ministry.
In a world consisting of thousands of dialects and cultures,
sport is a universal language with the capacity to share a universe-changing
message of victory in Christ!
Athletes
in Action’s World Training and Resource Center is located
on a historic 250-acre campus in Xenia, OH. In 1865, Abraham
Lincoln challenged the states to bind up the wounds of the nation
by meeting the needs of widows and orphans of the Civil War.
Members of the grand Army of the Republic took up that challenge.
In 1869, the Ohio Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Orphans’
Home began through the donation of 100 acres by a Xenia farmer.

Throughout it’s 127- year history, the residence was home
to over 13,000 children. Since relocating to Xenia in 2001,
AIA has restored five buildings and offers top-quality lodging.
In addition, we offer a variety of services and facilities to
meet your personal needs.
