Thai Basil Gai Yang Stir Fry

Serves 2


2-3 pieces of leftover Gai Yang

1 red onion

1-2 handfuls of green beans

1 large red chilli

3-4 stalks of sweet Thai basil

4-5 tbsp of cooked Gai Yang sauce / marinade

1-2 tsp avocado oil / vegetable oil


Finely slice the red onion, top and tail the green beans, finely slice the red chilli and pick off plenty leaves of sweet Thai Basil. Then pick the leftover Gai Yang chicken meat off any bones and roughly chop ready for adding to the stir fry.

Prepare your wok clock as follows: red onion, green beans, cooked Gai Yang sauce, Gai Yang chicken pieces, sweet Thai basil and lastly the sliced red chilli.


Heat 1-2 tsp vegetable oil or avocado oil in a wok to high heat. Add the red onion to the wok and stir fry for 30 seconds. Then add the green beans and continue to stir fry for 2 minutes. Ensuring to maintain a high heat, add the sauce and immediately the chicken pieces and boil vigorously whilst stirring occasionally. Lastly, add the sweet Thai basil and fold through the stir fry. Garnish with the red chilli and serve.
