Around 800 team members from the local office, along with Centennial Ambassadors from interstate offices and leadership team members from AIA New Zealand, arrived at Fawkner Park, Melbourne to be greeted by blue skies and a cool breeze along with a healthy breakfast. Regional Chief Executive Bill Lisle and Chief Executive Officer - AIA Australia and New Zealand, Damien Mu, delivered inspiring welcome remarks, before ex-AFL star and AIA Vitality Ambassador Shane Crawford, the master of ceremonies for the day, cued up the Centennial video and laid out all the fun activities for the day.
Those activities started with the Centennial baton being passed to Damien by AIA Australia Centennial Ambassador Taryn Bennett, who received the baton from AIA Taiwan last week. This prompted the start of a fun run/walk that continued throughout the day, with relay teams from all parts of the business collectively carrying the baton for over 200kms (double the intended distance!). The fun continued with egg & spoon and three-legged races along with some serious fitness sessions, including high intensity interval training and a mass yoga session, both full to capacity, showing a great commitment to living Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.
