Prior to kick off a special Centennial congratulatory message from Tottenham Hotspur was featured in the match day programme, including a mention from Spur’s Manager, Mauricio Pochettino, and on a giant centre circle banner.
When the Spurs players emerged to warm-up for the big match they were sporting AIA100 shirts and throughout the match the AIA100 branding was seen by the 81,332 Wembley Stadium crowd, Spurs’ largest attendance in the English Premier League this season, as well as by the millions of fans tuning in around the world.
Mark Saunders, Group Executive, AIA Chief Strategy & Corporate Development Officer, who was at the game to host a group of 150 AIA guests, commented:
"it’s really a great partnership with Spurs and to have one of our Centennial events here at Wembley, the home of football, is just fantastic. I believe that there’s going to be more than 80,000 people here today, but there’s going to be hundreds of millions of people watching this match live in Asia, so that’s fantastic."
Donna-Maria Cullen, Executive Director of Tottenham Hotspur F.C. added:
"We are extremely proud of our relationship with AIA. It’s been a long-term partnership where we have spent almost six years working together. Huge congratulations to AIA. If we are talking in football terms, I’d say welcome to the 100 Club."
