Mr. and Mrs. Li are proud of their family, adore their grandchild and they are comfortable with the thought of retiring after what they hope will be another 10 years of success in their work. However, Mr. and Mrs. Li wonder whether they have done all they can to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Family and Career
Mr. and Mrs. Li live in Shenzhen with their son Jason, their daughter in-law and their two-year-old grand-son. They have worked hard to build their assets and are looking forward to enjoying quality time as a couple with their family.
The Li's story
The couple lead a healthy lifestyle - they both enjoy golfing and spend as much time outdoors as possible. A few months ago, a good friend of Mr. Li’s passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was uninsured and while he received treatment from a hospital, the impact of not having an income during his illness and dealing with expenses for the treatment left his friend’s family with very limited financial resources.
This has made the Li’s think hard about how well they are protected against serious diseases such as cancer, Parkinson’s disease and others. They are very concerned about the rising incidence of these critical illnesses. They want to make sure that if something does happen to either of them, the other can continue to live a comfortable life and not be worried about depleting their savings.
Getting the right advice and support
Mr. Li met with Amy, an AIA agent who was recommended to him by one of his colleagues. Amy did a full review of the Li’s protection needs and understood that they already had some life insurance protection. She recommended that they:
